Dr Simon Divecha, founder and director of Greenmode has two decades of experience across innovation policy, society change and integrating diverse perspectives to deliver outstanding results. His experience crosses multiple sectors including business, non- government organisations and academia. He has lead many major initiatives that create conditions for the growth of tomorrow’s businesses today.

Simon’s skills are highly valued by major and SME businesses – for example, as recognised by IAG as a member of its expert advisory committee and major multi- stakeholder projects that have involved companies (such as BHP Billiton and Lend Lease), governments, the Australia Korea Foundation (Next Generation Leadership Program, Australia-Korea) and international fora (such as APEC as an expert for its model city program).

Research and impact

Greenmode, and its director Dr Simon Divecha, is involved in the application of research for sustained impact, innovation and competitive advantage. Highlights include:

  • The University of Adelaide’s doctoral medal for outstanding research at a PhD level. His thesis, A climate for change, focuses on implementation and barriers to change. It investigates this in two leading multinational companies.
  • Co-leader of the University of Adelaide’s, Spencer Gulf Ecosystem and Development Initiative, funded by (currently AUD2.5 million) BHP Billiton, Santos, Arrium, Nyrstar, Centrex, Alinta and the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation with Flinders University and SARDI as research partners.
  • Major role for the (AUD70 million) winning Adelaide Solar City Consortium comprising ANZ, BP Solar, Big Switch Projects, Lend Lease, Origin Energy, and City of Salisbury to develop and demonstrate holistic energy solutions.
